SALESMAN Kelvin Fortune of Lot 4 Public Road, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown appeared yesterday before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a charge of fraudulently converting to his own use and benefit one Samsung Galaxy cellular phone valued at $140,000, entrusted to him by Collin Boyce on June 6 at Georgetown to keep and return safely.
Police Corporal Bharat Mangru, prosecuting, said the facts are as charged, but did not object to bail.
The unrepresented Fortune pleaded not guilty to the offence, and was placed on $100,000 bail.
He will return to court on June 27 for statements.
