TWENTY-four-year-old Anthony Peters, a labourer of Lot 108 Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara, yesterday appeared before Georgetown Magistrate Ann McLennan, charged with allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
The unrepresented Peters pleaded not guilty to the charge, which detailed that on Saturday, September 20, at North Road, Georgetown, he stole one X-Trail motorcycle valued at $380,000, property of Edmond James.
Informing the court that the stolen motorcycle was recovered at the Roti Hut in the possession of Peters, Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield opposed bail on grounds of the nature and prevalence of the offence.
Peters was remanded to prison until October 28, when the case would be called again.
