PPP/C must listen to its constituents now

OPPOSITION Leader, David Granger said the proclamation of prorogation has effectively paralysed the parliamentary process, and muted the voices of the people’s legitimate representatives in the National Assembly.

Though the people of Guyana spoke in November 2011, which resulted in a majority Opposition, Granger said President Ramotar has clearly turned a blind eye to their request. Some journalists must ask the very tough questions when the PNC ‘big-wigs’ come to talk their usual nonsense to the press. Oh, how they can cry that the PPP/C did not do this and did not do that, and did not do the other and did not do, in effect, as the combined Opposition demanded.
Granger said the proclamation has effectively paralysed the parliamentary process, and muted the voices of the people’s legitimate representatives in the National Assembly. Well, someone must force it; shove it down Granger’s and all other PNC-ites’ throats that they are the ones who are doing exactly what he is crying about by calling a no confidence motion against the democratically elected Government.
Someone must shove it down Granger’s throat that of the three political parties that contested the 2011 election, it was the PPP/C that got the majority votes and majority seats, and that by the Opposition calling no confidence against the Government, they are trampling on the majority’s choice and rights.
According to a press report, “Due to illegalities, Nagamootoo said APNU’s Member of Parliament, Carl Greenidge had moved a motion to have Finance Minister, Dr. Ashni Singh face the Privileges Committee for the unlawful spending of $4.5 billion.
The AFC had also filed a complaint to the Guyana Police Force, contending that the Finance Minister had committed a criminal act. Carl Greenidge should be the last person in this world to be talking his usual nonsense, since most Guyanese know he is intelligence-challenged. Carl Greenidge should be turned over to the ICC for crimes against Guyanese citizens, when he went along with the banning of basic foreign foods; and when asked why certain foods were banned, all he could say was that there was no funds to purchase goods.
He, Carl Greenidge the racist criminal, who could not account for billions under his watch, is now calling PPP/C’s Finance Minister, Ashni Singh (who could account for all monies he spends) a criminal.
PPP/C must play it right this time; the Party has, for far too long, taken their main core constituents for granted, knowing that they will never vote for PNC. Period. PPP/C must now do all infrastructure work in their strongholds and stop appeasing PNC and their supporters, for they are die-hards, and will always support PNC’s destructive actions, so that the Government has to always spend monies on re-building; but no matter what the PPP/C Government gives them, or does for them, they will in turn bite off the hands that help them to get out of poverty.
