BK Western Tigers maintained their second place standing in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/ Banks DIH National Premier League with a 2-0 win over Milerock on Friday evening at the Georgetown Football Club, ground.Rensford Coleridge and Randolph Wagner scored for Western Tigers in the 18th and 58th minute, respectively.
The win for Western Tigers has propelled them to 34 points from 14 matches.
To date they have won 11 of their matches while losing two and drawing the other which they lost via a penalty shoot-out.
They have so far scored 28 goals and conceded 11 to attain a goal difference of plus 17.
Milerock, on the other hand, is 10th in the points standing with 14 points from 14 matches.
They won four of their matches, lost eight and drew two which they lost in the resulting penalty shoot-outs.
A second match was slated for the GFC ground on Friday evening, but according to a GFF official, the match between Guyana Defence Force and BV/Triumph was not played due to unforeseen circumstances.
Meanwhile, Alpha `The Hammer’ United lead the points standing with 39 points from 13 matches, all of which they have won.
To date the points leaders have scored 54 goals and conceded a mere six for a goal difference of plus 48.
The Guyana Defence Force is third in the points standing with 28 points from 12 matches.
To date they have won eight of their encounters, lost one and drew three.
