ESSEQUIBO Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death Tuesday around 01:00hr of 34-year-old logger, Eldon Gaime, at Oku Backdam, Cuyuni.
According to the police, investigations so far indicate that Gaime, of Pomona Village, on the Essequibo Coast accidentally shot himself through the throat with an improvised 12-gauge shotgun while travelling on a tractor.
Both gun and an empty casing were recovered by the police, while the driver of the tractor in which Gaime was travelling when the incident purportedly occurred and another man are in custody assisting with investigations.
